I rename the mfehidk. After rebooting McAfee real time scanner was turned off.
I turned it back on and the system is running fine. I don't like this solution because if my system reboots when I am not here is will not be protected when I come back and I will have to remember to check to see if real time scanning is running or not. It isn't a question of whether or not McAfee has to keep up with Microsoft's changes or not, it's a question of Microsoft fully testing Windows before release.
